Untamed Sumatra

"Previously we talked about 5 largest island in Indonesia,today I want to give more detail about each island's wild life.Firstly let's see what sumatra have !"

Sumatra is the one 5 largest Indonesian island,there so many beautiful things inside including the wildlife.The island includes more than 10 National Parks, including 3 which are listed as the Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra World Heritage Site—Gunung Leuser National Park, Kerinci Seblat National Park and Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. The Berbak National Park is one of three National Parks in Indonesia listed as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention.This island is unique,the animals here belong to asiatic animal type.

Asiatic animal occupies the western part of Indonesia until the Makassar Strait and the Lombok Strait.In this region especially Sumatr,a has big mammals like in Asia ,they are orang utan,elephant,tiger, rhino and so on.
Beside of  asiatic animals,Sumatra also have endemic Animal one of them is  sumatran striped rabbit
sunda clouded leopard.But Unfortunately their life threatened by human greed such as deforestation,illegal hunting and pest eradication. Pest eadication often the case in Lampung,because of losing habitat some elephants frequently attack some village near the forest.

Not only the animals but also the plants,Sumatra has amazing plants in the world.Sumatra supports a wide range of vegetation types which are home to a rich variety of species, including 17 endemic genera of plants.^[9] Unique species include the Sumatran Pine which dominates the Sumatran tropical pine forests of the higher mountainsides in the north of the island and rainforest plants such as Rafflesia arnoldii (the world's largest individual flower), and the titan arum (the world's largest unbranched inflorescence).
